World of Goo publisher goes bankrupt
Brighter Minds, the Ohio-based company which published World of Goo, among a number of other casual and family games, has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
According to Gamasutra the filing was made last week, and while the company has made no formal statement, the situation was confirmed by a third party bankruptcy database.
The news might come as a surprise to some, given the popularity of World of Goo and its regular placing in the top ten PC chart in the US, while many industry spectators have expressed the belief that the casual sector won't be affected by the economic downturn - if that is what is to blame.
Brighter Minds also sells games directly via physical and digital distribution on its Beanstalk Games website.
