UA passed the final hurdle today in its planned expansion of Bryant-Denny Stadium's south end zone.

As expected, The Board of Trustees for the UA System voted this afternoon to approve the $80.6 project. Construction will now start this spring, with work scheduled to be completed in time for Alabama's 2010 football season.

UA's proposal received committee approval yesterday and got the thumbs-up from the entire Board during today's meetings in Birmingham.

The project will bring Bryant-Denny Stadium's seating capacity to more than 101,000 people, making it the nation's fifth-largest college football stadium behind Penn State (107,282), Michigan (106,201), Ohio State (102,329) and Tennessee (102,037).

80.6 million I'm guessing?

They had a good season last year, there stadium was probably sold out every game.

even when they were in down it was most likely near sell out every game. One of these days I would love to see some college fork a bill for some mass crazy number seat stadium, something like 250k, it'd be insane.

Lol, with that many people, I'm not even sure if they could see the field. I went to a OSU game before sat at the 40 yard line, about mid row. I could hardly tell who had the ball. especially when they did PA.

I once went to a game at Ralph Wilson and we got some pretty average tickets and I must say I like sitting at home rather watching live. If only I had like a 50+ 1080p tv
