[Exodian Review] GoldenEye: Source

For a lot of you out there who are looking for the next greatest game, while this may not be it - it will definitely bring back a lot of old memories and bring you up to speed on a development team that is solely fan based and working around the clock to bring this game out of it's Beta hibernation.
Those of you who loved the original GoldenEye for the Nintendo 64 will instantly feel at home in this game with most of the original solo player maps, music, and same characters that you used to love and hate - except this time, you're all on equal playing fields... Sorry Oddjob, Jaws, and you stupid MoonRaker Elites!

The game is essentially just like playing CounterStrike: Source, with few exceptions. Different weapons, maps, and characters - the game play still feels like your typical first person shooter.

You can pick up body armor in the same old spots as you used too, strafe left and right quickly, and spend countless hours trying to kill SOMEONE with the Klobb - still.
The levels are extended and remastered to fit the Valve Mod Engine that Steam uses for games like Left 4 Dead, Half Life 2 and DeathMatch, and CounterStrike: Source!

Why the game play is a little choppier and chunkier due to it's Beta testing, anyone who loves GoldenEye and CS:S will find this game a good fit to them.

¦----» It's a little time consuming and obnoxious to get through the download process, but well worth the wait. It's also still working in beta.

¦----» This is dependent on how much you play CounterStrike: Source, Left 4 Dead, and any other fairly redundant. I played CS:S for years and after some recent events, fell from it. This game had me for a while...

¦----» Rather redundant as well, but it really takes you back to the heart of the original game, same music style - same great sounds.

¦----» They're typical CS:S style graphics. Some things can be very detailed depending on what your computer can handle and others just look blocky.

¦----» Well, it really depends. I thought it was alright, but extremely cheap sometimes. If you have certain weapons and someone spawns near you, it's just a spawn-killing fest. It will definitely keep you nose to the monitor for most of the time because it's fast paced.

good review, don't think I've ever played the game, played many games on steam and games that look like CS because I liked CS lol, but not sure about this one - review makes me want to try it out though. Review could have been better if you embedded some of the images here, i tried editing it in but they are using a flash viewer which is weird..meh..

anyways, the graphics seem a lot better than on goldeneye, which is cool. sadly, i probably won't ever get to play it
