I have my xbox 360 inside a cubby hole in my armoir. It gets hot pretty quickly in there. I bought that 3 fan external adapter for the back of my xbox 360 and it keeps the whole thing a LOT cooler. It's a bit louder, but I crank up volume when I'm playing to drown out the extra noise. I bet that fan is going to extend the life of my xbox.

Anyone else use it?

its better if you just take your 360 out when you play. but consoles usually have long lives, I still have my PS2 after so many years and it works fine. so unless you played the 360 for 12-18 hours straight every day, you didn't have much to worry about in the first place.

I know my ps2 burned out cuz of it. I would play it all night, then my brother would play it all day

I would have to say that buying that external fan will increase the life expectancy of your Xbox 360 for sure, but eventually the fan, itself, will die with extended use followed by the Xbox 360. Is it worth it? Sure, why not.

I'd say it's more cost effienct to have your 360 not in some cubby hole, not only would you not have to spend money on a unnessary fan but you'd extend the console life which = less dealing with MS support

My boyfriend leaves everything on when he's not playing. Our PS2 has been on for like a week straight. Lol.
And the energy eating PS3 has been on for a while too. Almost a day now.
Our surround sound is on constantly. The computer is NEVER shut off.

I have one for my 360, they are only like 30 dollars at walmart. Just attaches to the back of your 360 and you plug the AV and Power cord into it.
