Ever since the implementation of the new trading system, this game has been failing itself. This new trading system reminds me of Communist Russia...
Seriously, I am only allowed to trade a limited amount within a given time frame? What is Jagex thinking? (Or should I say, is Jagex even thinking?) What Jagex is doing is aiding the dumb players who have not a clue how much something is by preventing them from getting screwed over by someone more intelligent. Uh, it's called LIFE! If you are not smart enough to realize that something might be a scam in a game, chances are neither will you in real life. Don't rely on the government to say, "Oh, you cannot charge anymore than $3 for a roll of toilet paper. If you do, you will be scamming someone because it's not worth anymore than $3." No! What happens if you charge too much is that nobody buys it. That's called ECONOMICS!
So, I quit that game, and the only discussions I have about the game pertain to me ranting about it negatively. Sorry Runescape, I will never log on again!

...right, well...
To save this thread from total disaster - I'll have to out right announce that today.
A World War II veteran called his alarm clock a "Confounded Communist" because he couldn't get it to stop beeping while I was doing a measurement on his vanity top.

To me, the game USED to be fun when I was capable of scamming other players into giving me their belongings. Also, I had myself a little business in which my "workers" would gather cow hides for me in mass quantity, I would then the cow hides off from them for a cheap price (bear in mind that my "workers" were noobs), and I would then sell the cow hides on the streets for much more. Some would consider it scamming, I consider it business.

I used to play, but then I got really pissed at it because I randomly did and lost half my stuff. So I don't play it any more. But it still sucks. Theres no wilderness anymore, so you can't take other peoples stuff anymore. Also, another thing that failsin runescape are those clans. They never seem to work out.

ok first off don't get me wrong, Jagex has messed up with a lot of stuff. I myself was a merchant. I would get mass portations of items and sell them at a way higher price. It really messed up my money making. Also I would always get free expencive items from my friends all the time. Before I became a member, one of my friends were gunna give me full dragon armor. Sadly the trade update happened before I got it and he quit. Also I loved to get a team of high levels and help me lure noobs into being killed for their stuff. Sadly that is no longer possible for me.
On the top side, Runescape is getting their act back together. They plan to update the Free Game portion after about a billion years. Also they do have a lot of stuff to do including the new very popular game Soul Wars.
Runescape is still Alive my friend, just not at its high point anymore.

They implemented that system because the Runescape population is full of kid that doesn't really know how to play the game and the prices.

I think that the limited trade would really just kill the game (haven't been on for years so I'm not sure what else they did). Really I thought that the only thing that was really interesting in Runescape was the whole crafting, playing the market, and trading part (if you like that kinda thing). The combat was always kind of flat, but a few minigames were pretty good (The teamwork with the harvesting/crafting/fighting was always my favorite)
