Movie Watching on Computer

Dunno if there was a place for this, didn't bother to find it if there was.
Anyway, I wanted to watch Invader Zim on my computer (I have the DVD Set) and since I have a DVD Drive, my brother said I could.
I got Windows Media Player Classic because he said it runs them, but when I open Invader Zim in it, it freezes and won't play it/open it.
What is wrong, and if it is the player, what can I use to watch it that is free?
(There is a menu and ect, so Windows Media Player won't play it.)

I play movies through windows media player, and it does menus and etc fine?

Is there any error messages or is it just frezzing and not playing?

Try upgrading your player to Window Media Player 11.. I've never had any trouble watching movies on it.

I guess I don't have a DVD Decoder, and too bad I am not going to spend 20 bucks on one, just gonna get VLC since all I want is movies.

Yea, and it worked.
I decided to watch the movie Downstairs anyway, because it lagged.
Had too many things running, none that I really wanted to close.

VLC plays about anything.

The laptop i have is messed up (Need to wipe hdd) so VLC and DivX players are the only ones that will play video, I never figured out why but then again..never looked into it cuz I have two programs that support video

nothing else works - WMP, Winamp, nero, sonic, etc..
