Best Classic Fighter

I Have alway thought that Soul caliber was the best just because of its fluidness and most the characters are seperated by their unique fighting styles.

I used to play so much mortal kombat back in the day - I probably played MK more than all the other three combined although I was into SC II with my PS2 as well. and Street Fighter on my PS1.

I've only played Mortal Combat and Soul Caliber... and I think I liked Soul Caliber best. To tell the truth, that's probably because I had the second one for the Gamecube so I could play as Link. I guess I liked the fighting style more too even though there wasn't very much of a difference.

Mortal Kombat is my all time favorite Fighter. The hard combo's make the game fun on vs mode. I found it really fun to use a combo that takes there health down past half way. Then they're always like "wtf?"

Virtua Fighter was huge in the arcade and on the console.
It even had a 35 episode anime series.

But alas, with the choices that have been given.. it's going to be the almighty Street Fighter

Mortal *Kombat struck me as a game made by illiterate lazy people who replaced hand drawn animation with photos and made a game where a "bicycle punch" hit much further away then the character meaty arms reached.

Or maybe I was jaded by the sweet glory of the street fighter games. I still play alpha 2 and 3 all the time. ^^
