Timeshift is a shooter slash adventure game that takes place in the present day. Catch is, it also takes place on a separate timeline to our own.
Story
You are an elite scientific researcher (aka, a really smart Scientist). Taken away from your more practical assignments, you have been asked to help advance a secret government time-travel project. As it turns out, Time is actually a substance that can be manipulated into moving back, paused, and slowing down. Soon, actual suits are created to bring about the altering f time. The first suit is the Alpha suit, a crude, bulky suit that can only send the user back through time. The model was soon scratched, as seen as too dangerous, most specifically the lack of an auto-return feature. Basically, while is works, the user can not return back to present day after they have traveled back. A new suit, named Beta Suit, is soon created. This addition, however, has more martial features. It includes a shielding system, protection from military grade damages, and more acute powers from the suit (pausing, slowing down, and reversing time).

Doctor Krone, the head researcher, however, did the unthinkable; stealing the Alpha Suit, Krone jumped back to the past, creating an alternate-timeline, where he rules in a total totalitarianistic form of goverment. A split second after this occurs, however, you manage to get into the Beta Suit, and are also sent back to the past - just a few years after Krone Landed. And without giving too much more away, that's the story. There is a rebellion going on, and you have to help the "Occupants" take down Krone.
Now, the most probable thing your thinking right now is "omg, this is some stupid game about an overused topic". Well, that's right, in all fairness. Time travel is an overused idea and should be left to rest. The plot isn't anything amazing or ground breaking, but it does the job; just not with show.

Gameplay
As in any shooter game, you have a plethora of weapons to range from. There's your standard, none interesting/original weapons like shotguns, machine guns, pistols, rocket launchers, and sniper rifles. Then the other half of the weapons are interesting and actually pretty original. There's a plasma-gun, a lightning-ray shooter, and than (my personal favorite) a crossbow-like gun that shoots a small rocket at one enemy at a time. The Controls are pretty simple and are easy to jump into.

But the main thing in this game are the Time Powers, right!? Well, yes and no. You only get three powers, as hinted above, which are to Stop, Slow, and Reverse time. For some reason, this seems lazy. If you are focusing on certain aspect of a game, why would you half-ass it? But anyway, you will be using these time powers a lot.
Puzzles are pretty common in this game, which range from simple box moves to elaborately thought out tricks. It's pretty cool.

The graphics are extremely well made in this game. Battle's will turn into a frenzy of guts and blood very quickly, ensuring that you will be drowning in blood since you'll be fighting a lot in this game. Fortunately, the effects are pretty sweet and pleasing to look at, so you won't be disappointed. Other graphics, such as Fire or Electricity, are also very good.
Over all, this is a pretty good game. While it falls in a few categories, it still remains strong at other aspects, and is a least worth a try.

I will admit that this review is a little hasted and dirty. Finals were this week, so my procrastination is completely my fault. My next review, however, will be much, much better.
