every friday night skulltag (source port for doom) has a huge deathmatch normally around 30 people play.

BUT
You would have to have around 30 people who would actually want to play DOOM.

Yup. nail meets head. This has always been a pretty common problem on this forum. Not enough regular members and the ones who are active are fractured amongst many games and systems so it's mucho difficult to get a solid gathering in games for a games night meeting.

I mean, I love Doom, but finding others that do isn't easy.
If you wanted a Friday Night Game Night, it would have to be something like Halo or Left 4 Dead, something more popular and up-to-date.

I"m not saying it has to be doom it could be something like HL deathmatch or TF2 it could really be anything.

oh I get it :)
as much as this is a good idea there are a lot of downfalls
we would have to get people to do it
and we would have to pick a game where most likely everyone has

schedule a gaming date with what game you will be playing and what time inviting all to come join the fun. Those who want to get to know people on the forum and those you have the game will most likely show up if they know about it.

Ex: Call of Duty: UO Team Death Match Tournament-August 14th-9:00PM EST-Server Location Pending

This way you aren't set to a fixed date which leads to more flexibility of who will be able to attend.
