To be honest with you I am a bit disappointed with what apple has come up with. As far as I understand, it has no USB ports as far as I know, and it's OS isn't really any different than that of the touch/iphone. However a piece of hardware from Hp has caught my attention, and that is the HP slate. It has a bigger screen as well as a full OS, windows 7. Details are sketchy on both, but so far it looks as if HP has apple beat in my opinion, simply due to the more versatile OS...

I have to say... I'm not impressed at all. It's too small to be a tablet and not small enough to be worth lugging a giant version of the iPod around. I might have been mildly interested if it was the size of a normal 15 in laptop screen, because that way it wouldn't be in the gray area of size that would make it awkward to hold.
It just looks like an expensive electronic child's How-To-Read thing.

I don't understand why they're running it on a 3G network, when 4G is already upon us, that's stupid to me.

Second thing is, it only has 1gb of ram.

CANCEL MY THIRD, apparently there is a mic -- so you could download skype and it will act as a GIANT iPhone.

Fourth, it lacks USB inputs.

So essentially, it's a piece of expensive junk, rolled up into a WACOM table, that you can't use for drawing. Lol.

I guess this is just totally retarded then. 699 for the HD, and still a giant iphone.

I was kind of disappointed with the iPad. They really should have made it less like a iPhone and more like a laptop. Apple really seems to be pushing this for gaming but I don't think a bigger iPhone/iPod will allow them to compete with the likes of the DS and PSP. Most of the people that would be interested in this have an iPhone already. Sorry to say it but not really very ground breaking Apple.

I too was let down by the iPad - the lack of a more mobile OS makes it wholesomely unattractive. I can't justify the iPad as a good offer in the face of netbooks I could get for half the price that would have more functionality.

HP Tablet might turn out pretty cool and handy if they do it right :) would be cool to see apple get one up'd in a tech race.

Unfortunately for HP and Lenovo, they are at a huge disadvantage because their logo isn't an apple. It's a shame that people will blindly by inferior products just for the brand. Especially when the inferiority is so obvious...

I played with one the other week. It's a fat glorified iPod.... And all of the apps are a ton more expensive because they're bigger and "hd." Haha... I mean, what does it take to make a simple application larger? Probably like five minutes on a computer and then they charged six bucks for it? Haha...
