First poem in a long time.

[Project Blaze]

I just wanted to try and see how rusteh I got. lol Let's just call it "Complacence". ^_^ And it'll be kinda simple, it's been so long since I've tried to write one. Be nice! lol

This is not the way things should be
For everything has changed for the worse
And lo, the situation is not as hopeless as it seems
Acceptance of my situation in life has its perks

No more tears
No more sadness
No more fears
No more hapless

Yes, I have come to accept and appreciate my bleak stance
Yes, I realize my dreams may not come true
Yes, my life may look gloomy at first glance
Yes, I have finally stopped fighting and learned to be amused

Now I laugh
Now I smile
Now I make this pact
Now I cast off denial

I am aware of my mistakes
I will never falter
I will do whatever it takes
To never be like my father

Towards the end and even further
This is my life, my only existence
I will never stop, I will only grow in fervor
This is my life, no longer with resistance

i like the jist of it infernal but i think you could relax a little .. u seem to be trapped a little by trying too hard to make it look like a poem. let it flow a little more - the craft in writing is afterwards, not in the moment of inspiration after all. you might also want to think about rhythm to accent certain moods too, but that can be done in the edit also.

just my first impressions, make of them wot u will :)

I agree with what jango said; and trust him, he has really good advice and writes really good poetry (from the one I read). But hey it's great for a first poem after a long break! And I really like it. Way to go, Infernal. I'd never have the courage to post any of my writing up here.
