The Gamers Forum Points (GFP) earnings are back and it is perfect, for now at least. But there are some changes on how you earn points, how much you can earn, and what you can use these points for. So to learn more about this just keep reading this thread and it will explain all you need to know.
What is GFP?
If you are new to this forum you will probably have this question, my answer to you is, it is just the name of the points you can earn by participating in our forum. GFP Stands for Gamers Forum Points. There is more than one way of participating so keep reading.
How Do I Earn GFP?
Simple. Post a lot. There are different amount of GFP you get for making certain types of posts and doing certain activities. Below is a list of what you can earn according to your actions. Some actions include creating a post, thread, voting in polls, giving rep, receiving rep, etc.. Read below for more.
Actions required to attain GFP:
Create a New Thread: 3 GFP
Create a New Post: 1 GFP
These above are the obvious ones. But now for some of your actions:
Get a referral to sign up and make 10 posts: 100 GFP
Reputation Granting Credit: 0.10 GFP - this is when you click the silver balance beam and give I Agree or Positive Reputation. You will earn 0.1 GFP Just for doing that.
Positive Reputation Credit: 1 GFP - this is when you are the one receiving Positive Reputation, for each positive you get, you will get 1 GFP. How easy is that?
Negative Reputation Credit: -1 GFP - this is when someone else gives bad reputation because of something bad you did. You will lose 1 GFP for this.
Creat Poll Credit: 3 GFP - if you are to create a new Poll, you can get a total of an extra 3 GFP. This can help you a lot.
Vote Poll Credit: 0.50 GFP - If you aren't the one to create that poll, its ok, you can still get points by Voting in that poll. You will get half a GFP but later on, this can add up.
Rate Thread Credit: 0.10 GFP - When you go and rate a thread, you will get 0.10 GFP. Rating threads are easy. On the first post of the thread, on the top bar you will see a drop down button that says Rate Thread. You can select the number of stars. To avoid spam we will keep track of who rates what thread. So only give a rating to those threads that help you a lot or has a lot of valuable information.
What Can I Do With the GFP That I Earn?
You can enter contests and use them to receive the prizes. For example we are running a steam games contest where you can use the points to get free games on Steam. Two of our members have already claimed their prizes, will you be next? Also, there will be more point related prizes to be set up here. A shop should come as soon as it is developed to fit with this forum. I am also trying to integrate it into the arcade. Where you will have to use a certain amount of your GFP to play some games. And in turn, maybe hit a jackpot if you reached a certain goal, you get a lot of GFP in return. These are all being planned out as we speak.
Some ideas have been given and for 100 GFP for now - you can request your own UserGroup to manage. As long as it is approproriate for all ages and no illegal content. You will get full access to that usergroup and you decide who gets to join and who doesn't. This is also in production but for now, if you want to do this, set up a request in the Questions and Suggestions (http://www.gamers-forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=30) board in this forum.
Another thing you can request is custom User Title. Example: Mine says The Ultimate Gaming Machine. You can get yours to say anything you want for 100 GFP. Again Make a thread in the Questions & Suggestions (http://www.gamers-forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=30) board and request for it.
Can I Give Some of my GFP to my Friend? And How Can I do this?
Yes of course. We call this feature the Donation feature. So you want to know how to give points and it is very easy. First you can find a post made by your friend and click the link that says GFP under the person's reputation points. You will be taken to your usercp where at the bottom you will be able to give the points to that person. Another thing you can do is go to your UserCp (http://www.gamers-forum.com/usercp.php) and on the left panel, click Manage GFP (http://www.gamers-forum.com/credits.php) on and then at the bottom you can manually enter the username of your friend, a little comment, and amount of GFP. Please note the Fee. If you donate, you will have to pay 1.9% of that GFP to tax. It is just a fun feature and can be used to keep control of point distribution.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is just a Basic FAQ about the point earning System. This will be changed as time goes by, there will be additions as well as removals of some of these features and point earning limits. So keep in touch with this thread and keep up with the updates.
For those that want their points back from the old SMF board. DO NOT PM ME. I will slowly do that this week. Also with the Raffle Winners, you will get your GFP this week as well.
If you do not understand anything, have any questions, suggestions, or comments, please let us know, we'll do our best to assist you.
Thank you very much! Enjoy our forum. +rep me if you found this useful and earn some GFP in the meantime.
