Well on IRC i was complaining to SUB about how annoying the Pac Man thing was on google and it turns out there a reason behind the madness.
Have you spent the entire afternoon on Google? If not, I don't know how you've been able to resist.
Today (and this weekend) the search engine is celebrating Pac-Man's 30th anniversary with an incredibly cool "doodle" at Google (http://www.google.com). Go there now, and you can play the classic arcade game right on the site, going all the way up to the 255th level.
"Pac-Man seems like a natural fit for the Google homepage," writes designer Marcin Wichary on Google's official blog. "They're both deceptively straightforward, carefully hiding their complexity under the hood. There's a lighthearted, human touch to both of them."
CNET has more info on the project, which has a fun two-player option as well: Just insert an extra coin, and Ms. Pac-Man will show up, too! (Another player can control her using the WASD keys.)
OK, I have some ghosts to take care of. See you at level 255.
