BP chief to Gulf residents: 'I'm sorry' - CNN.com (http://www.cnn.com/2010/US/05/30/gulf.oil.spill/index.html?hpt=T1)

Hayward said the company is doing "everything we can to contain the oil offshore," but, "as far as I'm concerned, a cup of oil on the beach is a failure."

oh really now. If a cup is a failure what in the blue hell you call estimated 19 million gallons?

The most recent setback was the failure of the so-called "top kill" method of pumping mud to plug the leak.

I figured that'd happen

These guys are just trying to find the cheapest way to fix it. They have the money to go fix the thing in one day but losing 19 million gallons of oil and destroying the environment is less of a loss than what a fix might cost them.

lol I think he actually is sorry, but the whole "cup of oil" thing is just saying what they want to hear.

Is it really this hard to plug a hole?

Hell.

i mean really, it's their fault, they should have to clean it up and salvage the oil.

They're trying another method now...to cut the pipe that's leaking and do something else...But the environmental damage they caused is years beyond repair. Just pathetic.

Well it's a mile down, but that excuse only works for so long. It's been like 40+ days now.

I thought it was more than a mile down, I thought it was like 3 miles or something, which is why it is so hard to plug it
