Half life 2 problem

Hello everybody. :) " Im from Denmark " so sorry for my english, i will do my best.
Yesterday i bought Half life 2 in Steam for my mac, and i played it 100% There was no problem.
But today i wanted to play a little bit, and when i launch the game, the preparing half life 2 box comes.. and after that a box come and say " Validating steam files " and then it start to do that.. And then it says " all files succesfully validated ". And then there happens nothing?
I have tried reinstall the game and also steam, what shall i do ??

I never encountered that kind of problem with steam. That is most probably something wrong with your Internet connection or the files itself.

After the files are validated, did you try starting the game up again?

And if you want to reinstall, make sure you delete all physical files first before installing. Otherwise if you just uninstall through steam, it keeps a lot of files that could be the cause of the problem.
