A massive sinkhole in Guatemala has eaten a building and may have killed at least one person in the wake of Tropical Storm Agatha. A giant Guatemala sinkhole is weird enough, but the creepiest thing is how perfectly round it is. Seriously, it’s like aliens hit Guatemala City with a giant hole punch.
The monster sinkhole appeared suddenly underneath a three-story building at an intersection in Guatemala City. The building subsequently vanished into the sinkhole. A security guard is allegedly missing from the area, but that report has not yet been confirmed.
The sinkhole in Guatemala is being blamed on rains from Tropical Storm Agatha. Thousands have been left homeless and at least 150 are reported dead in the wake of the tropical storm in Central America.
Imagine that eating or doing whatever and bam your swallowed by a sinkhow, crazay
holy crap, that is flat out ****in crazy

Well here is some answers to questions
Guatemala Sinkhole 2010 – Big Sinkhole Pictures, Photos, Video Amaze. The giant sinkhole that opened up in Guatemala doesn’t quit amazing those who see the pictures. The hole opened up after Tropical Storm Agatha dumped record amounts of rain on the Guatemalan countryside.
National Geographic notes that Guatemala City, the location of the giant sinkhole plus the location of a second sinkhole that opened up in 2007 that was 330 feet deep, is built atop of volcanic ash that hasn’t yet solidified into rock. In addition, a faulty sewer line has corroded the area beneath the earth – which is why the hole opened up so easily.
The Pictures, photos, and video showcase something that appears as if it is a photoshopped picture. However, it is very real. The hole swallowed a factory and a home – but luckily no one was killed. The factory workers left an hour before the hole opened up – and a guard once thought dead actually left his post to tend to his home and did not die.
Vanity Fair notes that the hole is so round because the hole was caused when water collected and ate away the bedrock. More water got on top of the bedrock, and then the water seeps down, causing the hole to look cylindrical.
so basically this was just a ticking time bomb

wow, I thought that was photo shopped when I first looked at it, crazy.
kinda scary that its not the first one as well. how do you stabilize and repair the surrounding area after something like that. I bet everything in a two block radius is shut down because the holes could expand.
On the other hand, being a huge nerd I just watched Tokko an animation where demons enter the world and leave holes in the ground like that and governments cover them up with earthquake and sinkhole stories. Coincidence? =3

My question to all of you... Does that look photoshopped??
Yeah, but seeing one in 2007 was 330 feet, who knows how deep this one is. That's probably why there is a ps look

You should really take the time to read the entire thread before you make your way to the post reply button where you make wild accusations already defunct in past post and the articles they link to.

I dont think itll expand.
I mean, it seems like one of those "its gonna happen and its gonna happen all at once"
really lucky that no one got sucked down into that. Can you imagine just taking a piss and all of a sudden your house is falling, and then you're falling, and you don't stop falling.
