the first was okay and I will likely be stand pat on this as it's the first movie the director has made.

I really enjoyed the first one until the ending; the ending kind of ruined the entire movie for me.

One version of the movie I really really liked and the other was still good but they made it more "OOH A GHOST RARAR DEMONS AND PRIESTS AND BLAH BLAH"

Considering the first movie wasn't plot heavy, its entirely possible to have another one, as long as they don't try to smash a huge plot in.

I felt it was really cheesy throughout... as some others in this thread have expressed. I dunno, they gave away that there for sure was a demon right away and took out a lot of the suspense/thrill from it for me.

Compared to it's inspirer, the Blair Witch Project, the big difference for me was that the Blair Witch Project doesn't really confirm the existence of anything truly supernatural until the very end - it seems just as likely until the end that the kids are just paranoid and the film becomes about their mania and psychology... much more interesting to me.

I'm sure the sequel will make lots of money, woohoo.



tl;dr - I thought Paranormal Activity 1 was cheesy and ineffective. I liked Blair Witch Project.
