No cut-scenes to hide transitions ? that?s last-gen. All my life as a game creator I have dreamt about finally having a platform that would allow the seamless transition between 10,000 feet up in the air and close combat on the ground ? the PS3 finally made it possible. It?s extremely exhilarating and at the same time a huge jump forward in game design for us. The possibilities are endless.
The missions or chapters are merely the story progression ? and since it is a real moral arc for the player, the story is absolutely linear. Within the chapters we have a wide variety of freeform, though. The further you get into the game, the more we open up our sandbox and the missions become more unpredictable.
The rewards system I will talk about is our straight transition from Rogue Squadron ? the medals. They unlock a ton of extra content that we have created and that might very well be the largest amount for a game ever done. All in hi-def, plus both audio and video. On top of that we fully support the PlayStation Network with leaderboards, messaging, and an extensive Lair homepage containing forums and other community features. So there is plenty of challenge and rewards to be had.
