read all the sticky threads in this section of the forum (Forum Talk) - that should get you up to speed :) The couple that it seems everyone new has the hardest time understanding at first are:

Posting Links or modifying your profile - You don't have the privilege to post links or modify your profile on the forum until you have made at least 10 posts AND have been a member for at least 24 hours. This is a preventative measure against spam.

Double Posting - If you have made the last post in a thread and have more to add, don't bump the thread again with another post - just edit your last post to add your after-thought. This prevents people from running up their post count and/or exploiting the GFP system.

In general, just try to make quality posts that have some content to them and add to the thread (instead of a simple, terse "lol" or "oh yeah me too," elaborate a little!), don't belittle other members and judge them unnecessarily for little blips of text they drop on the internet, and have fun seeing the different perspectives that appear on various topics in threads and getting to know the members of the forum :)

Note that these are NOT ALL the rules of the forum, just a couple highlights. Read through the FAQs (http://www.gamers-forum.com/faq.php), sticky threads in the Forum Talk (http://gamers-forum.com/forumdisplay.php?f=34) board, and/or ask questions in the IRC (http://www.gamers-forum.com/showthread.php?t=13264) to know it all!

I look forward to seeing your posts around on the forum, Elite :)

Something dili missed: Don't come here just to advertise, we find it annoying and we don't hesitate to ban.

Main things to avoid, and this is golden no matter the community... (except a select few designed specifically for it) No trolling, nor flaming. If you do not know what either one means... than perhaps it's time to get schooled in the Urban Dictionary (http://www.urbandictionary.com/)

Basically stay on topic and talk, calmly, nine times out of ten all caps is referred to as "shouting" and is usually frowned upon. And one golden rule to follow... make sure your posts have content to them... as in know one word answers.
