RE5=22
GE= 47

Is the extra content that is in the GE worth the extra 25 bucks?

I'd say so. Gold has all the DLC.

It's probably worth it, but TBH It all comes down to whether or not you'd buy the DLC. and if you go with the regular edition, you can get all the stuff from gold edition as well

i think they switched the cover?

Once again, it all comes down to the bonus stuff.

A western version of Biohazard 5: Alternative Edition was announced for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in the form of Resident Evil 5: Gold Edition. Gold Edition will include the "Lost In Nightmares" episode. It was announced that the Gold Edition would include another campaign expansion called "Desperate Escape." In this episode players control Josh Stone and Jill Valentine as they journey to assist Chris and Sheva.[44] Gold Edition will also include the previously released Versus mode DLC, four new costumes, and an alternate Mercenaries mode, "The Mercenaries Reunion." Mercenaries Reunion features eight new playable characters as well as new item and time placement for the Mercenaries levels.

Sounds like the campaign is a bit longer and some alternate modes. you can get them all as DLC. So really it's up to you. I'd say get the original and if you REALLY want the extra stuff you can buy it

I'm going to buy this as soon as I get to it. I currently finished disc 1 of Resident Evil 2. I just need my friend to find disc 2. Then I'm gonna play RE3, RE:CV, and RE4. Then RE5 lol.

I should finish RE4 lol

You probably should before you play the sequel...It only makes sense.

lol going in order eh?

Considering all of the plots are connected, I wanna see how the story unfolds. And I'm not like certain people who play the games out of order. I've only ever played Star Ocean and Clock Tower out of order because they're only similar in name and play style, not plot. I hate though when people like....play Metal Gear Solid 4 without having ever touched a MGS game before (and then complain about the gameplay or cutscenes. in the past 3 MGS games you had just as many cutscenes, but in the past they were codec conversations. In MGS4 they were actual cinematics)

I got a bit off the point there, but eh. It's only logical to play the games in a series in order, unless that series is final fantasy, or some series that doesn't revolve around plot (sports games, racing games, etc)

Kenoi
08-29-2010, 06:41 PM
man, I should have done that...
well, I've only played 2 & 3, & then I had 4 & Code Veronica...
also played the darkside chronicles. -- hidden stuff from code veronica i think

LemonRising

Eh I've played bits and pieces from RE games. I never seem to get the chance to play anything in order unless there are only a 1 & 2.

LUCK IS JUST NOT WITH ME.

EpsilonX

See, I avoided the games unless i've played them in order. I've cleverly avoided playing RE4 until i can play the first 4 that are before it (i'll probably save outbreak and file 2 for after i beat RE5)

It's gonna be a weird feeling when i finish all the RE games (im gonna even try survivor, though I doubt i'll get far in it)

My brother ordered this from some website, he said it's for us to play together :P
I enjoyed the demo very much and the game isn't that scary at all, unless zombies starting raining! But that won't happen... is it!? It also has that remote move control option thingy.

EpsilonX

man, this thread fails lol.

The gold edition just has some downloadable stuff on the disc already. I'd still get the regular one, i probably wouldn't play the gold bonus stuff anyways.

RE 5 is on my list of games to play... i havent gotten around to it yet but it looks like a great game.... it would be my first resident evil....

Resi Evil 5: GE has the extra content, but Desperate Escape and Lost In Nightmares were dissappointing in my opinion, they were both far too short. So thank God Versus mode was included, it's the real highlight in my opinion.

I've only played Resident Evil 5 I wanted to buy the Gold Edition, but I am not sure if I must, because I am enjoying Resident Evil 5 already.

What are the differences about the normal and the gold edition actually; because just now I decide to buy it then I am not really impressed about it.
