Go to Gamers Forum :: PS2, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, Wii, PC, Fighting, FPS, Video Games (http://www.gamers-forum.com/forum.php)
Now scrool down till the page/window where it says: 'What's going on?'
Look right below it. See the number of guests! Then compare them to the active users xD
Eheh don't be shy! Join!
Aparently is like this the whole time, but when I was navigating yesterday at night, I saw over 100 guest online. I thought that was a lot, but at the afternoon, I saw millions of guests!
ZOMG! xD

most of those "guests" are just bots for various search engines or other services that are indexing the site (I think, to the best of my knowledge.) There aren't actually that many users (if any) lurking.

The truth that Dili is wary of stating is that they're ALL Linux .. after all, he IS the matrix ..

They aren't bots...very small amount of them are bots. We have maybe 20-25 search engine bots.
Years ago, yahoo used to have thousands of bots and back then we could have up to 800 yahoo bots on the site but since then, they've changed it. They don't have more than a few bots on a site at a time.
But most of those guests are either actual people or regular bots surfing through the forum or something or getting blocked by our registration security, etc..

Search engine bots go around websites and look for content to post on their search engine. Every major engine has them including google, yahoo, msn, bing, ask, and a few more. A majority of search engines use results from one of the top Search engines instead.
Without bots, it would have taken a very long time for the people at google to actually get a 1,000,000,000,000 pages indexed in their engine :)
The wonders of computers..
P.S. the bots are actual servers browsing sites...not robots. They can handle a lot of sites at the same time (not sure how many, could be dozens, could be thousands).

Yeah basically. They also update stuff. Because if you noticed, the google searches usually contain a small portion of a page in their description as well as the page title if it's relevant. The bots also help to update the info if they have changed.
And you're welcome :)
