So, in my car I just got my two subs, amp, and capacitor all working.
But I am now starting something else.

LED's!
The problem is I have no idea how to solder them together in a chain.

I know I need the LED, a resistor, and a transformer.
I know I need the specs of the LED to know what kind of resistor I need.
I have no idea about the transformer.

So I was hoping someone could help me here.

Does a resistor go in between each LED like in the diagram?
Or do I only need 2, one on both ends?
Or do I only need one in the series?

Is the series even right? Or, does it not need a complete circuit?

As you can see I'm lost. If someone could explain how they get wired up in a way I can understand that would be great.
The power would come my the remote cable on my amp so they turn on when my car turns on. The negative would be the ground.

I can solder, that isn't the problem. I just don't know the order or how to do it, and I can't find any easy online how-tos.
I'm hoping someone knows how to wire here!

you know more than me about actually installing this, but I can tell you that from what I know from AP Physics - having one resistor in the series is going to have the same effect as multiple resistors and it doesn't matter where it is in the series. The LED lights themselves are a form of resistor (very technically by theoretical terms,) if I'm not mistaken.

So, to answer your question in fewer words, you only need one in the series, if you need one at all. It would have to be a complete circuit, and doing it in series as you have illustrated in the diagram would be best (don't wire anything in parallel.)

I hope this helps (http://led.linear1.org/led.wiz)

good luck! I love LED on cars <3

do you have anyone you know IRL that can/is help(ing) you too?

I thought LEDs were illegal? Well, in US at least.

I thought LEDs were illegal? Well, in US at least.

That depends on what color the LEDs are and where they're installed on the car.

They'd be accent LED's, blue. Ohio laws says I can have them as long as they aren't flashing.
So I'm safe.

I'd be more than happy to post the results!
Once I get the results! Lol

I have people who can help me solder, help install them, but as the actual planning on how they get wired up, no, which was why I was hoping someone could help guide me here. I asked at school today and heard I need Resistors in between EACH LED and I was also told that I only need one in the series. -.-

Where's the fun of em if they're not flashing?

GIANT FLASHING LEDS. you should do that. for funs.
