So I didnt see this thread all day so I wanted to start it.

When you were growing up what is your favorite halloween tale that you were told on that day?

Well I remember one time before me and my brother went out trick or treating my mom told us a story about how someone died in my lake behind my house and that his spirit grows strong on this eve. then my mom would start freaking out and my dad would come out of the lake and run at us full speed.

at 10 years old, you would **** a brick and then some.

Mine was a book by a guy called Spike Milligan called 'Bad Jelly the Witch'. My Dad used to read it to us when we were kids, and he seemed to be especially good at it around Halloween. It had a lot of humour in the story, but was also terrifying (for a kid at least).

the only thing I remember about it now is a worm in a 1920s bathing costume and tiny muscles, and a large eagle .. that's it ..
