Hey all, Dakafall here.

I would like to let you all know I have setup a Minecraft server for us to play on. It is hosted by the same company that hosts our Ventrilo, and I have been very satisfied by them so far.

If this is popular enough, I would be willing to invest in another server once we reach full capacity on this one.

Server IP Address : 69.197.188.220
Max Players : 20

I have set it so monsters do not spawn, I will keep this setting for the next 30 days to allow the ones of us that do not know how to play to get settled in.

I am currently looking for OPs to help run the server. They will help me keep an eye on things while I am away.

If this server gets enough attention from you guys, I might setup some contests and even have rewards for the winners.

I will be posting updates to the server in this post by editing it. It will show what mods I have uninstalled / reinstalled to give you guys an idea of what it will be like. I currently have plans to host a site for this server, that shows the players on the server, an overview of the map, and many other features.

Installed hMod allowing commands to be used to create a better Minecraft experience.

UPDATE 1/2/2011 :
Working on a portal site for the Minecraft server. Currently the website lists warp locations, allows users to register and be put into default user groups, and it shows an overview image of the map including spawn points.

edit: The section is up but do you know if there is a way to make the IP connectible? I know how to do it with TS, Vent, and the Steam games, but never really played minecraft.

It's fine either way, people will just have to copy/paste IP I guess.

Glad this is getting some attention :D This really is one of the best indie games of the year, and I am almost always playing it when I am not working.

Ok, after reading the post more it sounds like this guy is paying money to host the server. He doesn't have to.

Aizen, you listing? Most computers will have no trouble hosting the server, and now that the game is in beta there is a downloadable exe that will set itself up instantly, alls you have to do is run it and leave your computer on. If your concern is having a public server with your IP that has to be handed out and that makes you nervous, then I have a simple solution:

No-IP is a service that allows you to resolve your IP address into an easy-to-remember URL. For those running servers, this can be very useful, since you can give your users a link like:

Bobsawesomeserver.no-ip.com

instead of:

72.216.184.233 (haw haw haw this is not my ip)

which is far easier to remember, and if your external IP is a dynamic one, you don't have to worry about telling everyone what it is every time it changes. Obviously you can change whatever you want in the first bit to your preference.

Also, I would love op because Im getting to lazy to mine all my resources for building cool stuff and castles look better made out of stone then gravel. =P

Totally never playing on this server, W1CKED. People were TOTAL douches. Skxawng13 and lord1175 were hardly agreeable to us and I'd much rather play on other friends' servers. Never going back -.-

Yeah... I hate to say it but I got there and was interrogated as though I were there to do nothing but troll the server and nothing me or Muffin said could get those two mods to stop raging at us in all caps and various profanities. They were just all up in our faces treating us like/calling us scum bags. When I did everything they asked even after they were berating us they begrudgingly made me a user and allowed me to stay (though I didn't).

Can't say Muffin or I really project the personalities of troublemakers... but these two were itching to ban us just because we were new on the server.

Also, if you're going to post just the IP here, at least let us know we're supposed to apparently make an account on your forum :| The first time I spawned in your server, I didn't spawn in your spawn point, and I collected dirt and stuff and then left, and then when dili and I tried together, I had all this dirt and we were in the spawn point and jumped out because we didn't think it was a big deal.

If you're going to have such a huge condition, at least mention it here - especially if your mods or whatever are going to swear at us constantly. :/

Haha, thanks for clarifying. We just didn't expect it to be like that and so we were confused because you sounded so friendly, welcoming everyone :( Didn't seem like it would be high-stress or anything but then with all the profanities and everything... You might wanna teach them a few manners XD Oh well. We have a few other server options and dili and I are trying to run our own :3

I just talked to them. Make yourselves at home on there. I actually need another admin or two. I'm willing to make my MC server a Respawn Gaming / Gamers-Forum server as long as LiNuX is ok with that. We have quite the player base and it keeps growing. Knowing you and Dili, I can put one of you as Admin right away to help out. :)

But let me know your thoughts. :)

Try re-typing your password when you are at the log-in screen. Sometimes it is just weird and you have to type it in again... and try typing the IP into the multiplayer box instead of copying and pasting it o:
