As Velvet Revolver inches closer to possibly announcing the name of the singer who will replace Scott Weiland after a nearly three-year search, speculation has grown online that Stone Sour and Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor is going to add the Velvets to his resume. Both Velvet drummer Matt Sorum and guitarist Slash have hinted that the candidate is a "known" artist, and that his style is a little "heavier" than what Weiland brought to the band. Taylor has jammed with the band in the past, although nothing ever came of it.
However, it was this tweet from Slash's wife Perla last Saturday (January 8th) that had fans buzzing even more: "At dinner with @KraveKelly @Slash and mr corey! Good times good food, all good! Love my peeps!"
This would be very interesting to see Corey in this role I love his music and he has the ability to be metal and I guess alternative, that is what I classify Stone Sour as. I hope he gets the spot but I would like to see a new Slipknot record but I dont know if that will happen anytime soon
