So, I was looking at the cases of my ps2 games and I noticed they all have a number...so do my ps3 games.

If you look at the bottom of the spine of a playstation game case, there should be a number

see how there's numbers at the bottom? What's your highest and lowest number?

My lowest number for a PS2 game is 20066, which is Half Life and the highest number is 97573 which is shadow of the colossus
For PS3 the highest is 98229 which is god of war collection and lowest is 30018 which is rainbow six vegas.

are they serial numbers or something? or just model numbers?

I think they could be production numbers. As in 20066 is the 20,066th model of that game made.

irlmurf that would just be a serial number :P
serial number = each individual unit has a different number
model number = each copy of that game for that same platform, region, etc. has the same number

I think each game has the same number, since the games that came out a while ago have lower numbers than newer games.

I wonder how much a Model #1 of Elder Scrolls: Oblivion would sell for!?
