Amulators for PS2

Guys do you know any, PS2 amulator that works? So i can play PS2 games on my PC ?

PCSX2 is the best ps2 emulator BUT... depends on ur pc specs and not all games work

i used to know a few more back when i used to use a lot lol and this thread opened in the wrong category - goes in consoes since you are asking about emulator for a certain console so thread moved - questions and suggestions is for forum related questions only

just google PS2 emulators and you'll get results - its not spelled with an A :D

Yeah i know i tryed PCSX2 but when i dowload theres no bios can u help ? Only if you tested... Plase tell me dont worry im a gamer i need to have all brand new req.. Graphic.. Dual Core... bla bla bla .. Already forgot what i do for a living?

yes i use pcsx2 pretty often. Im really happy that they are developing on internet play.

The reason the package does not come with a bios is for legal reasons (i dunno if im allowed to tell you which one u need and where to get it on this forum either)

you could also dump your own ps2 bios if u have one

I won' play those console in my PC , well its better to play in Video Console instead of those Emulation but it can be good to try something good.

the only good ps2 emulator I know of is PCSX2 and yes, trading PS2 BIOSes is illegal and you must acquire your one.

Note you need a very high spec PC compared to what most people run to play these PS2 games.

Don't try it please, you computer going to running slow but I never got PS2 or Gamecube emulation to really work, need to fixed with that Bios think.

If it is for testing new games then dont get pcsx2. because they have to make it compatible with the game first.

if you need to test PS2 games they would more than likely give you a PS3 and PS2 (cross-compatability checking) it takes ages for games to be made properly playable on the PCSX2 emulator and you need a PC worth about $600-$800 from an American store to play them atleast, and then probably add in a better graphics card, too.

So a BIOS won't actually effect the performance of an emulator, the problem is the engine, it's hard to perfect an engine that is not exactly the same as the actual hardware it's meant to mimic.
PS2's can be had used for $50 which is a lot cheaper than paying $600 for a PC and having to wait months after to actually play the games. The want for PS2 testers is obviously long gone since it is SEVEN YEARS OLD and alot of the games they already have the people who developed them testing them now, they mainly want other people's opinions for button layouts and story and you need qualifications for that.

My computer is worth 2000$ I can play it on my PC but hate it to say myself, I own a PS2 console why play it on PC :)

$2000 pc? hmmm im guessing shopbought lol yeah, playing on ps2 is a lot better, even $2000 pc's can still have problems running the emulators and games at decent spec. mostly the final fantasys run best as the most popular emu - all the scripters are big final fantasy fans :P

when computers will be able to run 10gigs of RAM and video cards that are better than the 512mb ones then you'll be able to play all games lol

Right now the biggest you can get is 128GB of RAM and 1.5gb of VRAM on a single graphics card. ofcourse, you can run these in multiGPU solutions for 3gb of VRAM, the best videocard for gaming is 768mb, run it in SLi you have 1536mb of VRAM. :)

By the way, RAM and VRAM isn't everything... i can get 1gb of VRAM on a card that can hardly play FEAR which is about 5years old now.

the world has come far since the computer first came out, 10 gigs is like nothing - max on my pc is 4 gigs tho :(

best consumer boards support 32gb of RAM. The most ram i've personally ever seen was 16gb in my friend's dual socket 940 board with dual 2.4ghz opterons.
10gb still is something since most people run 2 or 4gb and most people still only run 256mb videocards (and play at good detail and speed)
but yeah...if you want to run a ps2 emulator you need to spend ?500-?1000 depending if you build it yourself or buy it from a shop
