How can i stop playing video games?
I play video games alot ,as i am a teenager. But recently i have had problems with my relationship with my parents and people around me, also my education has been over run and all i can think about is my Xbox and not what i am physically doing to myself. I am getting fat ,more angry , my education is on a down low and i don't socialise as much as i did. (Im 14 btw.) Any suggestions?

Set up strong limits for how much you can play everyday.
I almost think this is a hoax. I mean... you're asking in another post about video games making your eye sight worse, and in this one, you just name off every stereotype gamers have been labeled with over the years.
It's like you're just posting about how video games are bad for you...
Anyway... on the off chance this is a legit question.... Just put down the controller and step away.
There's always building strong relationships with other gamers like the ones here when it comes to a social life. Most of my friends are gamers, my boyfriend is a gamer, my family is made of mostly gamers... just play with them.
Sounds like a video game hater trying to prove a point to me.
If you're for real? Alittle stupid, but here you go:
Have your parents throw your gaming rigs out, problem solved...you're 14, their house their rules.
If you're a hoax: I have nothing more to say than: "LINUUUUUUX!"

I already did a motivational self restraint and self improvement response somewhere. However see as this person posted this under sports games and was to lazy to even read the forum categories, I am feeling to lazy to go find it.

I have that post that you're talking about referenced in a text file... but it's on my Mac partition and I'm boot into Windows atm. Maybe later after a reboot I'll edit it into this post. It was a pretty darn good post.

If you are serious about stopping gaming, destroy your Xbox. Grab a hammer, and deck it. Or have your parents hide the cables but if it's in the same room it will always be a distraction.
Seriously, I don't think I know how hard it is to quit playing games.
I haven't played my XBOX in a long while.
JUST STOP PLAYING THE DAMN XBOX.
Plus I don't think going on a forum full of gamers would help you any good.

OK read this reply!!!
Start off with throwing ur xbox away!!!
NOOOOOOO........dont throw away!!!:D
>limit your time< or > make a chart<
For example for every hour with physical
activity=15minutes of xbox
for every hour of social activity=15 minutes of xbox
for every hour of studying=15 minutes of xbox
limit your time=
for example: 3 hours of xbox a day
or 2 hours or 1 hour[if going extreme]
