there could be several causes, the area's too full with people and your pc cant handle it, could be hardware. What happens after the WoW crashes?

AH! I think I have a solution!

Does it actually CRASH? Like does it give you that red and white screen that asks you to send the report to them? If so, then I'm at a loss.

However! If you just get kicked off of the game after selecting your character, these are the possibilities:

Your game crashed, and your character is stuck in online mode, this will lock you out of your account. Solution: Wait, try in ~15 min intervals, if problem persists, contact Blizzard.

You have been hacked. Your account should've been locked by Blizzard automatically since the IP address was different. Contact Blizzard if the game claims that your account has been locked.

A patch fix is in progress, and select zones have been shut down for emergency maintenance. For example, if you are in Orgrimmar, and the game crashes, you can try and log on with an alt, who might be in an unaffected area, like Mount Hyjal or something, and you can from here then find out if zones have been cut off or not.

A simple client error. Reboot your system.

Those are my only solutions. If you still cant log on, I suggest contacting Blizzard about your issue on their support website (http://us.blizzard.com/support/index.xml?locale=en_US)

EDIT: I see that your game is actually freezing, I have a few suggestions for what might cause that as well:

Your computer is not strong enough to run it. Only way to fix it is by overclocking or buying more powerful components.
Client Error. Reboot your system.
Internal Script Error. Run the WoW repair tool found in your World of Warcraft folder.

Did you have this problem before or is it just recent?

Could even be AddOn errors man. I play a DK and use(d) Engraved, but since 4.1 and there's no more blood runes converted to death runes when blood strike is used, there are just death runes now permanently, it doesn't work correctly and it freezes my game. I log in, play for 5 mins, it cuts to ~5 frames/second and then just freezes fully, aside from my cursor and the music.

Check any class-specific AddOns that may have changed with 4.1, and try disabling them. It may solve everything.

How did they help you fix the issue?

I ask because it may be useful info for other members that may have the same issue later on.
