Police have issued an all clear for the Missouri University of Science and Technology campus in Rolla after taking a suspect into custody at approximately 1 p.m. today. Faculty, staff and students may resume normal activities on campus.

According to the Rolla Police Department, at approximately 8:36 a.m. a male identified as Cody Nathaniel Willcoxson was seen at the entrance gate at Fort Leonard Wood with an AK-47. After being questioned by FLW Military Police the suspect fled the scene, and was pursued by members of the Pulaski County Sheriff's Department. and St. Robert Police Department in a silver passenger car. The suspect then began to shoot at the pursuing officers, and he headed east on I-44. Spike strips were set up on I-44 which resulted in the suspect exiting at the Rolla 184 Exit. The suspect then began shooting at Rolla Police officers and members of the Phelps County Sheriff's Department as they pursued him. The suspect then drove through several areas in Rolla where he continued shooting at officers. The suspect vehicle stopped near McNutt Hall at Missouri S&T near University Drive/Hwy 63. The suspect fled from his vehicle on foot with a long rifle. Law enforcement officers established a perimeter around McNutt Hall and cleared the building.

Several minutes later the suspect broke into an occupied residence in the 1000 block of Crinoidal Ct. The suspect demanded the keys to the resident's car and stole it. He later fled the scene in the stolen car.

At approximately 1 p.m., law enforcement officials apprehended the suspect. He is now in custody.

Glad to see it was all cleared up without anyone getting killed. But stuff like this seems to be happening too often these days.

Agreed, not sure where people got that idea from but atleast schools have sometype of protocol in place to atleast try and prevent students from getting harmed.

Not to bring up anything negative but its a well known fact that due to Americas indifference with firearms and the "any american citizen has the right to bare arms" law, it is VERY easy to get access to them.

As far as I know, America has been for a long time, and still is, the easiest of all 1st world countries, to get access to arms in.

I've even heard something about, that there're as many weapons in the US, as 3 for every 1 person. So to have ALL weapons in the US be owned legally by someone, every single person, old, infant, or whatever, would have to all own 3 weapons at the same time. Needless to say, that means THOUSANDS upon THOUSANDS of rogue weapons switching hands none stop between criminals, such as Biker gangs or street gangs.

So it's not hard to believe that America is the best country of all 1st world countries in which to have a school shooting since it's so easy to gain access to them.

I'd say that it's pretty damned close to being mainstream for anything between common handguns like glocks or berettas, to heavy weights such as M4, M16, AK-47s, and various types of shotguns. Even heard about street gangs who own RPGs and gatlings.
