so for my birthday I got myself this:

Newegg.com - Auria 42 1080p LCD HDTV EQ4288 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16889611018)
(got it on sale for $499)

With a nice wall mount. And I plan to use it as my computer screen. What cables might I need other than an S video cable?

My sound will be coming from the computer speakers and stuff im pretty sure I dont have to worry about that since I have a video capture card that i want to run it through so...

am I forgetting anything? I just want to have this ready when it arrives.

Your tv doesn't have a DVI port? or if your GPU has a HDMI slot, you could just connect it that way.

My SAMSUNG has a DVI port so that's what I use.

I was gonna suggest HDMI/DVI but looks like I was a little slow.

yeah, if your tv supports it, it should do fine.

It does, i just looked it up in the link Bob provided.

It has 1 DVI and 3 HDMI. :)
So i would suggest using DVI bob. :)

Nice TV by the way. :)

I myself use:
TV - PC (DVI)
PC - Sound System (Optical)
TV - Xbox (HDMI)
TV - Sound System (Analog) :embarrassed:
