The new announcement that Star Wars Celebration VI will be next year has got me all excited :D So! I was just wondering what everyone's favorite convention memories were or what conventions you'd really like to attend? :)

Ive only ever been to one convention, SW Celebration V- but it was awesome! Best part was when I met Mark Hamill and he looked at me and commented on my tattoos/piercings and then said "Well, I bet you have a lot of fun" *wink* Haha, I was too shocked to reply.... worst part was dressing up like Slave Leia. Def wont make that mistake next year!

And Id love to be able to get to BlizzCon, Gen Con or Dragon Con one of these years....

UK don't have many opportunities for conventions :(
If there are any, they are never well advertised, which makes me want to live in the US even more so than I wanted to in the first place!

Well that sucks :( Only conventions Ive ever heard are big in the UK are Star Wars ones.... however, you guys get great concerts and festivals! That makes up for it ;)

This is true! Music and Football do tend to be our main culture topics.

Never been! In Canada all the conventions close to me are in Vancouver, Edmonton and Calgary, all being 12, 8, and 10 hours away respectively. So I just watch my shows and movies without any fun interaction about them with others, besides a half a dozen friends or so D:

Gaming conventions are close to non existent here in Norway.
We do however sport the 3rd biggest LAN/Computer Party in Europe The Gathering 2010 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qiZAGnuqI5I)

I havent been there myself due to the fact that 5000 people in one big hall a whole weekend without access to showers, dosent seem like my idea for a pleasant weekend. :P

5000 people and its only the THIRD biggest?! lol wow, that sounds crazy... but I must agree not for the most pleasant weekend haha :) However, instead of cons Norway also gets great bands/shows that us here in the US are jealous of :P

It'd be sweet to go. There's a town about 3 hours away that has an anime convention every year, but it's put on by the highschool's anime club and sponsored by the anime store. I think about ~15-30 people showed up this year xD Was gonna go but couldn't make it to town.

i have been to Choaticon, gencon, nobrandcon, dishocon and kitsuneicon.

All gaming/anime conventions. i think I like best the time I met an aspiring porn star and all the rooms where sold out (convention center in a hotel) and she asked to stay with me. ;)

I havent been on many game conventions there arent many here, the only one really is dreamhack and that is more of a LAN convention(worlds largest with over 10 000 computers) But there are many game makers there too.(wooohooo BF3 will be there this year.

The only real game convention Ive heard about here is otherwise Gamex and that started last year.

I just found our there's a comic con style convention in London in July! :D
Might be going to that, but as far as video game conventions go, I still don't know of any in the UK.
