On June 3rd an IU student went missing under very odd circumstances. Pretty much she was there one minute and gone the next. Well since then, and even today, the local news stations are covering it like crazy. However, a person went missing about 4 weeks ago, I believe a week before this IU student. They have only mentioned him on the news once, if im not mistaken.

So ive been trying to think about this and come up with an answer and I cannot. So what makes this IU student so great of importance to cover like that continuously and only mention someone else who is missing once?

Ive came to the conclusion that the student's parents are rich, because they did get the FBI involved within less then a week of her being missing. Im not sure but it does annoy me that this person is getting covered 24/7 yet others are missing and you wont hear a word about them.

Yup, it's all about the money.

It annoys me when sports stars dominate the news paper, when there are other, more serious events to cover, worldwide, compared to Wayne Rooney blowing his ridiculous wages on prostitutes and parties.

Could also be that this person is a Girl and the other was a Boy.

I think it's all the money and who they knew. In my high school way back there was a memorial to 2 different students who died. Then when I was still in school someone I knew died and they said nothing about it, not only that but the memorial balloons we brought in a year later for him the vice principle went around and popped. Wth.

You're right linux the IU student was female and the other person was male, however that shouldnt make a difference in their exposure to the media.

How things "should" be isn't always how they are sadly :( like that incident with the two girls harassing the boy and putting it on youtube, if it was the other way around, it would have been a much bigger deal.

Ooh that video, yes that is true. This world is all kinds of screwed up, it saddens me that people are subjective on what gets put on the air.
