Computer backlight

So, I have a laptop, and recently, if I tilt the screen back too much the backlight turns off. I can still see the image on the screen if i look really hard, but its almost completely black. There's a certain angle where if i tilt it to, it starts flickering, if i push the screen forward at all the screen comes back and works fine, if i push it back the backlight goes out. What should I do?

This kind of happens to me too, but not as badly. If I move the screen at all, it flickers/parts of the screen turn pinkish/etc.

I stopped caring because my laptop is just awful, and figured it was getting old. I'd like to know the exact reason too, though. p:

loose cable? You could try to open it up and see if the cables are still in tact. Could be that when you push the screen back, a connection somewhere is getting pulled apart or loosened.

My laptop would go completely black when you tilted it slightly back. Had to align it perfectly. Local tech store in town said some type of connection to the screen was knocked lose. :(

Take it apart and use your judgement to see whats wrong. Best advice I can give you.

this happend to me and it turned out a wire was broken and would stay together at some agngles and would come apart some i took it apart then sodderd the wires together and im still using it to this day

i have no idea how to take it apart though

i dont know what your laptop looks like mine has screws at the very front sometimes if there is rubber blocker pads on it the screws are there
