Well, some of the members I regularly talk to already know this, but as of September first I will be shipping off to boot camp.

Time to (try to) ride the high seas and journey to foreign lands. Hopefully to meet new friends and...not a lot of enemies.

I will be active as much as possible as I am on my four year adventure; but if I'm not on at all, just know it's because well...yeah. I'm either getting yelled at or working 24/7.

I'm hoping to get into being an HM (Hospital Corpsman / Medic) or IT Specialist. Setting up networks and whatnot on in American bases or in Afghanistan (ugh).

Anyways, I won't be on for nine weeks starting...probably August 31st. So...if you don't see me around...you know why.

It's been fun here everyone. Thank you for supporting me (those who do) and thank you for everyone who doesn't really like me...Even my enemies / strongest critics...are my friends.

Thanks for giving me such a great community thingy to be apart of. And be back when I get home :).

tl;dr: joined the navy. Bootcamp on September 1st. Wont be on for nine weeks. Won't be too active. Will try to be on as much as possible. Love you all.

Ps, I have heard good things about the navy, on flashback former militaries listed the worst things in the military, while the "normal" guys said about crawling around in mud and snow the navy guys said that the worst part was when they run out of chocolate :p

My brother just recently got out of the navy. I think he was in there for four years. I wish you the best of luck because he had nothing good to say about it but being able to see many many countries. He got stuck on a ship that was supposed to be decommissioned soon so he spent all his time at sea painting and fixing up a ship that seemed like no one wanted. At least he spent time in Japan, I'd consider that a bit of a bonus. Oh! And he got wasted off vodka and lost his IDs in Russia one time and almost got jailed and couldn't leave the country.. it was hilarious to hear his scary tales from Russia. XD

Best of luck to you! Boot Camp really isn't all that bad. When you first get there it sucks, but it does get better. Just do as you're told, and don't act stupid and you will make friends and be fine. Also the rule "out of sight, out of mind" applies on days off... Eat lots of Banana's (seriously). I don't exactly know how boot camp will be for you, but I would love to do it again. One of the best times of my life. Good luck and talk to you soon.
