so, sooner or later, I'm going to setup the new custom built PC (coming soon in photos)
and... a slight problem: windows 7 needs to update & requires a internet connection ...

so... question is.. where can I find a custom Lan cable? (like nearly 90ft) so i can hook up this new PC to the internet? would it be expensive?

unless if there's an alternative to connect like using a wi-fi adapter (from a USB connection) cause I got wi-fi. would that work? would the transfer rate be accurate? I have no clue what to do... I really dont feel like drilling holes in the floor/walls etc. :'(

Try newegg. I have several 50+ ft cables in my house, forgot how much they cost. Probably around $15, don't remember. Was a while ago.

And you could use wi-fi-fi-fi. I don't get what you mean by the transfer rate being accurate.

the wifi reception near my pc isnt too good so I use EOP connecters (Ethernet Over Power) They connect your PC and Router over your homes mains wiring and it is very fast. The adaptorrs in UK work out at about £90 a pair. Im not sure how much they would be in US though. Check out the link below (from Amazon US)

http://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Powerline-200-Adapter-Kit/dp/B0036R9YA6/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1315904783&sr=8-1

You can then reuse them as the main internet connection for your pc....

hope this helps

hmm... thanks snake_eyes, I think I might just do that... cause it looks like a better alternative than to drill holes in the wall & stuff like that.

definitely, its less hassle and i also forgot to mention to make sure the one you get has an inbuilt filter to stop any interference

Just make your own (http://www.sterpin.net/uk/ethernetcableuk.htm) cable man. It's easy and a lot cheaper (well, once you have the right tools). I taught myself in an afternoon. Now any time I need a cable, I just make one. Makes running cable all the easier without the ends on it. Anywho, just a thought. :)
