Internet Radio Shows / Stations - What do you know?

So long story short.. I'm thinking about starting an internet radio show / station on Saturday nights. I used to DJ a long time ago and miss it so figured this maybe just as fun.

I've done this a couple of times for the IRC events and people seemed to enjoy putting requests in and all listening to the same thing.

I'm looking to get peoples thoughts on internet radio stations, what you listen to, what you are looking for in a station, that sort of thing. What would it take for you to listen to my radio station?

I'd be sure to keep it commercial free (because even I can't stand commercials).

Also, if it takes off and if it's ok with our main man, LiNuX, I'd love it to be the official Gamers-Forum radio. :D

Talk a little bit too, and maybe somehow get interviews with other members listening or something, I think it'd be cool...like if you could link Skype to the broadcast or something, and just ask who you are, where you're from, why you joined, what you do, your username, etc. Something neat, I think. Lots of us know each other already, but lots of us don't.

Play all kinds of music, too. I'm not big on country, rap, dubstep, etc, but others are. Mix up the songs a ton, and don't be afraid to fly all over the place. You're appealing to the whole forum, after all. Country > Rap > Dubstep > Classic Rock> Metal > Classical, in 6 songs would be fine with me. Leaves you wondering what's next!

Sounds like a good idea! Interviews with members would be interesting, If you could get that to work. Throw in news about games, whatever, it'd be sweet!
The music...I dunno. I'm a Rock, Alternative, Metal person myself, so Country, Rap, Hiphop, Dubstepped-in-dogcrap isn't going to appeal to me, but others might like it. I like the idea of mixing genres around. Depending on what people like, play some more than others.

Well if you need a hand with getting the audio input mashed in with the output for the radio show in the future, I don't mind lending a hand on Skype or whatever you decide to use, man.

Just reading some of the ideas that flying around this thread and it sounds awesome. Like a real-time radio podcast lol. Interviews, News, Music.
Wed have to include video game soundtracks in with the music.
Maybe even create your own little intro music for the broadcast.

Your brain does funny stuff when you're going off to dream world, lol. More creativity flowing I guess. I hear songs in my head when I go to sleep that I make up, but forget them by morning :(

Rogue Shark Radio

I think it was fitting because I want to be that station that's different than everyone else and gaining other listeners from other popular internet radio stations.

I'm also going to be looking into playing some music by those who are not known world wide and looking to gain a name for themselves.

So, what do ya think? Be honest, if you don't like it you can say so. I take well to criticism. :)

Actually considering what you are trying to achieve with the radio station, the name is fitting.

And talking about unknown artists, I'm guessing that would include unsigned groups that just put together a cd for the fun of it?

Sounds decent man, I'm looking forward to the launch. Like Knibbler said, it fits for what you wanna do. I suggest going to purevolume.com if you're looking for new/unknown artists. It's where a lot of bands go to put their music out and try to get recognized.

Don't know how I missed the thread until now. That's completely fine with me.

I'd listen to it when I can, especially when I'm studying. I usually listen to my iTunes library over and over again when writing papers or studying, this would be a good alternative.
