half life or halo?

yes another comparison thread, but i just want to know what you guys think which one is better? not just halo 1 and half life 1, but the series ali together. for me its bias toward halo since i haven't played half life 2 yet.

im choosing half life 2 for these reasons
1. i thought id be different :p
2. i really enjoyed the half life 2 story
3. half life 2 had a better single player than halo but halo had a good multiplayer

i cant decide, i havent played either enough, i played half life 2 for a total of 2 hrs maybe, halo 1 i played for more than 2 hrs and halo 2 less than that, halo 3 havent played yet :/

hard decision for me with lack of exp with both lol

I think I might be voting for HL soon though because Orange box sounds amazing 5 games in 1!!!!

I got to say Halo cause its like the soul of all games. Plus I haven't played Half Life.

Half Life. Far more developed and intelligent storyline and not just recycled situations over and over again

i have to say Half life, it has been around longer it has a more developed storyline and you play through it more, it's on more formats and has pushed gaming so far. the orange box is bs if you already own hl2 and ep1, since they come with it, easier to just buy ep2 which i reckon should come with TF2 and portals 8-) or atleast portals. i've played what is basically portals already, a mod for hl2dm was made for it and it was great fun! the HL series brings in more of a wider audience and as ghost says, the situations aren't recycled as they are in halo (different areas and different creatures don't make a situation different, just slightly harder due to tougher creatures.) also the range of emotions you can see from the characters in hl2 are much better than in halo and the physics gun? KICKASS =D

I'm going to have to go with Half-Life... I'm a dedicated half-life fan =). Plus I love all the mods that come from it, like Counter-Strike.

i can't decide yet... but as far as i know the new half life is much better now and more challenging and offered nine different character classes...but i still go for HL...:laugh:...because of the fetaures and at the same time the environment:D
