Necromancer was my favorite too. I found the amazon to be pretty powerful! I dueled a lot with my amazon...necros were good against barbarians...but its almost like the rock/paper/scissors...necros/barbs/sorcs lol...loved that game though.

New D3 necromancer is..... still pretty awesome, but not as awesome in the same ways. They def took away a lot of the fun with them... but at least added a lil extra to make up for the lack of... did that make any sense?! I need to be vague so I don't run the D3 experience for anyone :P

I never had a problem dueling anyone as necromancer. Skeleton army + spam bone prison = super cheap win

Necros owned cows! Did anybody have issues with keeping their golem alive? I tried building a golemancer and the golem was still pretty week...especially in hell difficulty.

I never tried that. I always cast a boat load of bone spirits and cast decrepify, or use bone prison with iron maiden worked too.

do you mean bone spirit or bone spear? both were lethal with the synergized spells.

I built a poison necro once and it didn't work as well in pve as the zookeeper. It was fun to watch the enemies die from poison damage tho

Yes, I am talking about bone spear! It's really the only spell other then raising an army I use, but it's pretty awesome.

I never really found the point of getting an offensive spell. Usually I got a skeleton army, bone shield (very very nice defensive spell), bone prison for lolz, and level 1 amplify damage to speed up boss fights

I only use em cause I hateeeee just standing there lol Like.... I have the weirdest tendency to never play a melee class..... but I choose a caster and cast AND melee.... I just dont know :P

My favorite build was amplify, merc kills first cow, then maxed corpse explosion wipes out entire screen! lol...got my only level 99 character that way

I loved teaming up with lightning sorcs! The frost sorcs never left me any bodies to use corpse explosion on. CE was my favorite spell ever.

Necromancer is actually considered the most under powered character in the game. His minions did not scale up with difficulty so in hell mode Minion master was impossible. When they fixed that they reduced the number of minions you can get with max points by half. Now most players agree that only a spirit tree necro is any good late game.

D3 is pretty high up on my list of fanatic excitement.
