Stronghold Kingdoms

Anybody got their hands on Stronghold Kingdoms (http://game-craic.com/2012/03/free-game-friday-stronghold-kingdoms/) yet? It's a free to play MMO-RTS from Firefly Studios, based on the traditional castle-building gameplay that Stronghold has been all about since their début game back in 2001.

With Stronghold 3 turning out to be below-par in the eyes of many big-time video game reviewers like IGN and Gamespot, Firefly Studios were no doubt hoping that they would have more success in their MMO title which has been under development since 2007. I had only just heard about the game earlier this year, and got around to downloading it last week after Steam started distributing it at the back end of February, last month, and I've really enjoyed it so far. It's like 150mb to download, so if you're into your RTS genre then I'd suggest giving this a download.

How do you play the game, is it like the "real" stronghold games?

It's kind of like them, in a basic sense. With it being an MMO the gameplay of the original Stronghold games is amplified onto a bigger stage, so the game has a lot more about it in the form of trading and war. Anybody who has been a fan of Stronghold in the past should try this game, because it's a great idea that's be executed well, and it's not even out of it's Beta stages yet, however it is close to being so.
