When I was in junior high, I tried running backwards on a treadmill. I actually ended going pretty damn fast so I had my buddy crank it up.. Didn't end so well. They had it placed snugly against a ****ing brick wall; There was literally less than 2 feet between the wall and the back of the treadmill.. Anyway, I wasn't wearing the fail-safe bracelet when I fell on my ass and it launched me into the wall, I 'bounced' off of the wall back onto the treadmill, was thrown into the wall again, and it quickly gnawed away the skin on my back as I rolled/crawled to safety.

As if pain wasn't punishment enough, I got detention for being a dumbass.
