My problem

My room is on the second floor, so in the summer months it gets hot as balls in here. So in order to fix that we put a window air conditioner in. The problem with that was that we needed to take out the screen to put it on, so at night time, if i want to do anything in my room i have to turn the light on, which lets all the stupid light-addicted bugs into my room. I covered all the seams where a bug could get in the window with duct tape, but somehow they still manage to find their stupid way into my room and its annoying. What do? I need to clean my room and i want to do it right now but its getting dark and i don't want to have to turn the light on and let the dumb bugs in

Use more duct tape! Or maybe cover the window with fabric to block out the light, cut out some of the fabric for the air conditioner. Also more duck tape.

Yeah, the setup looks pretty solid. Maybe another couple strips of duct tape on the sides/edges of what's there now, to seal it in.

Go to Walmart/Target, whatever there is down there (Preferably a Canadian Tire (http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/2/OutdoorLiving.jsp?locale=en) alternative) and they should have these little coil things you burn (give off very little smoke, would go out the window) that mosquitoes and other bugs just hate. Also: garbage bags over the windows with duct tape seals. Works much better than a curtain or anything else. Past that, flyswatter here and there will do the trick.

I have a box of tissues for when retarded bugs land...my other strategy is turn the lights off in my room and turn the light in the hall on. stupid things all migrate to the hall.

My cat does a good job of killing them when they get in though.
