Really. I have no clue. I know the obvious stuff like you need to keep it cool. I think that would be a priority. I don't want a maxed out Razer Blade. I don't want an Alienware laptop that has pretty lights. I just want something that can play games like battlefield and especially RPG's. So, for a really basic starter with lots of room to improve (but works well) with a budget of under £300: What would you suggest? I don't know what I'm looking for. Maybe you could give me a link to a laptop and some upgrade components, or just a good starter laptop alone.

Thanks in advance. :)

Might be hard to get a good gaming machine for that budget because these things tend to be a bit more expensive in Europe than in the Americaland.

And I definitely wouldn't recommend a laptop for gaming like this, especially a budget laptop because their cooling system won't be enough to last you very long before things start overheating and failing on the inside.

Do you already have parts you can use? For example, you can move over your Hard Drive and even Case (and cd drive) to your new computer if you build one, save some money that way.

Thanks for the help, I thought it would be a good idea to be able to run around with it to cafe's and friends but I figured desktops were the way to go. I can get a decent desktop with loads of fans (which are my priority) for a decent amount of money and which will run games like Fallout so I'm good :D
