So, me and a friend were having a discussion recently about collector's editions...he thought the Anthology/Archives edition of Resident Evil 6 was a cop-out of releasing a good collector's edition, but I thought it was an awesome package that was worth the money, more so than a bunch of figurines and stuff. So I ask, what do you think makes a good collector's edition?

(try not to pick every option in a poll, just select the top 2 or 3)

Warhammer gave me titles to use in the game ... that was cool. They gave me two hard cover books ... also cool. And then they gave me a pewter figurine which was thrown away ... not cool. No cheep toys please.

Depends on the price. for 10 extra bucks it should be at least steel case and art work included and the higher the price it better include more goods

A game manual with the full game lore like my father got with starcraft when it originally came out. I like my lore! Also I like fancy cases on my shelf :D

Didn't read the part of not picking everyone until it was too late, sorry about that :(

If I just had to pick 3, It would be in order from greatest to least; Fancy Case, DLC and Figurines.

I forgot about Novelizations and other books of lore when I made this...if somebody could add those to the poll that'd be great.

But anyways, i'm rather fond of steelbooks and making of featurettes. DLC is cool and all but it doesn't feel all that "deluxe."

Sometimes collectible stuff is cool, like my friend has a street sign that says "welcome to raccoon city" but I couldn't care less about a little tiny plastic figurine or a small plastic replica of the main gun. That stuff is cool and all but it just takes up more space.

My favorite collector's edition is my final fantasy 12, which has a steelbook and a second disc with making of features. Maybe a small art book would have been cool too.

Special dlc for me. I especially like in halo reach if you had halo ce for pc halo 2 and 3 you got a unique tag beside your gamer tag. It is pretty cool when you get little thanks for being faithful lol

I haven't found any good Collectors Editions yet. What I want is:

The Soundtrack CD
Artbook
Making of DVD
and maybe then a steelcase like for Metroid Prime Trilogy, The Last Story or Pandora's Tower.

Well wait, there is one Collector's Edition that came very close to this, the Gothic 3 CE. It had everything (except Action Figures anyone will throw away sooner or later) but a new case, that's not that bad. Still the Soundtrack is pure porn and the game... well... wasn't that good compared to Gothic 1 and 2 but still, after the Fan-Patches, it is at least playable. I think the Gothic 3 CE is the closest thing I've seen so far to this. AND I DON'T NEED A FRICKIN BACKPACK FOR 150€ ELECTRONIC ARTS!!!
