Why ????

Hello everyone... Help me please
I have an ASUS laptop with
-intel i7
-radeon HD6730M 2GB
-4GB RAM
& I put my games in an external hardisk. I connect it with laptop when I want to play
but my laptop get lag and slow when I'm playing a game.. WHY ????

Have you tried putting it on the internal drive and testing for lag?
