I'm looking for a good gaming desktop that is able to support games like Minecraft and Arma 2.
What are the main requirements for a gaming desktop that can handle large games like those?

Thanks!

The system requirements for those games aren't very high. You will need 2 gb or more of RAM and any newer processor will probably work great. Just check the system requirements for any games you want to play and be sure you meet or exceed them

visit a tech forum and ask for help putting a best value PC together and give them your monetary limit. Some people can be very helpful and will show you how to build a cheap but very decent gaming pc.

another good thing to do is look up benchmarks for some of the major componants you will need for PC gaming, CPU, GPU and even hard drives and ram. Passmark is a great way to look at performance vs cost charts that are already laid out for you:

PassMark Software - PC Benchmark and Test Software (http://www.passmark.com/)

PassMark Software - CPU Benchmark Charts (http://www.cpubenchmark.net/)

PassMark Software - Video Card Benchmark Charts (http://www.videocardbenchmark.net/)

you can even go all out and look at the cost of the best rated combination of parts if you want the best performance the tech guys can figure out:

PassMark Software - Display Baseline ID# 10377 (http://www.passmark.com/baselines/V8/display.php?id=1037726916)
