I think it is important to distinguish between having played a game and found it disappointing and not playing a game and thinking it gets more praise than it deserves. It is always better to specify if you fall in the first or second group so we know if we should discuss what you didnt like rather than form a mob and kill you with pitch forks and angry words. And stones.

With that in mind, I think a lot of games are over hyped. But what was the largest let down in recent memory? Probably Aliens Colonial Marines.
