That's pretty impressive! They seem to be aiming to double what the PGR guys can pull off on the 360.
PGR4 = 100K polys per car
GT5 = 200K polys per car
PGR4 = 720p native
GT5 = 1080p native (twice the pixels of 720p)
PGR4 = 30fps
GT5 = 60fps
In the interview Yamauchi also says that GT4 physics will be "Standard" mode in GT5 - for novices - while there will also be an upgraded "Professional" mode as well, where the cars handle even more realistically.
There probably won't be any damage, though.
