I am trying to set up my own forum. ?I am a member of Yabb and I have downloaded 1 version already. ?I hope I got the one I wanted:YaBB 1 Gold - SP 1.3.1, but I'm unsure. ?If anyone could help me out or possibly make me a step-by-step guide for setting it up, I'd really appreciate it...........

well to set up yabb forum, u need hosting, get a hosting where they offer cpanel because yabb is already installed in the scripts library and its easier to install that way, and yabb 1 gold is a really old version, 2.0 is the new stable one, 3.0 is coming out later, well u just have to get hosting, this forum right here is hosting by p4h, u can visit and maybe get hosting from them at www.post4hosting.com good luck ;D

kitty, dnt use yabb. it uses alot of system resources(witch linux so painfully felt a while back :P)
try IPB, vB or phpBB their fast, easy and innoative :)

if money is the problem go for phpBB(there are alot of support and many mods that can make it look like vb or IPB :))
if you got "some" money i think vB is cheapest.
if you got "alot" of money then go IPB (test ipb, there is a free version of it)

yea thats the way to say it lol, i used yabb cuz it was easy to use and maintain, but the price was how much resources it used, it used to go down every couple hours, it was painful lol

then drop ipb and vb, php BB is the forum you get most support on (with a devel team on 350 ppl and a support team on 500-600 ppl(spread around the world) youre almost garantuied help in 1 hour(when i've needed help i've gotten it in 3-4 hours :())

Just that Tier1Server is where Im a mod.. Yurx pwnes too.. they just have to post for it..
Also With Tier1Server u get 300GB Bandwidth..

So no matter..
But i like Yurx becuse of the community.. i no longer host on yurx.. i stay for the community..
