I think nintendo made a massive mistake giving wii sports free with the consoles.

Had it been sold on its own i think it would have been one of the best selling.

well its their way of driving people to buy the console, at first when it came out, this was the only game drove people to get it lol, its actually smart of nintendo to drive in customers and fans like that

Yeah, think about it some people like kids don't get that much money for Christmas or there birthday So they can't afford to buy games, but they have Wii Sports

I guess i see what your saying,for example when the n64 came out games were like 50 quid,so people would have goldeneye and mario kart and play them none stop

It's because Wii sports isn't a full game. But it does show off what the Wii can do.
